<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mitigate user's setting operation for optical information reading. <P>SOLUTION: When creating additional bank(s) having different lighting pattern, the user selects "partial lighting complementation," and selects a set bank to which he/she wants to add bank(s) from a list of banks already set by him/her. Then, the user selects the number of complementation, or the condition for the additional bank(s). If he/she selects "four directions," tree additional banks "4"-"6" are created by rotating the lighting pattern of the first bank "1" at intervals of 90°.
