<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface coated cutting tool with a hard coating layer demonstrating excellent wear resistance under a high speed cutting condition of a heat resistant alloy such as an Ni-based alloy or a Co-based alloy. <P>SOLUTION: In the surface coated cutting tool in which a hard coating layer of an alternately laminated structure of multilayer regions with a thin layer of 100-500 nm alternately laminated with thin layers A with a layer thickness of 1-50 nm and thin layers B with a layer thickness of 1-50 nm layer and single layer regions constructed of a single layer with a layer thickness of 100-500 nm, is formed on the surface of a base body of the tool by vapor deposition, the thin layer A is a [Ti<SB POS="POST">1-x</SB>V<SB POS="POST">x</SB>]N layer (wherein x is 0.25-0.75 in terms of atomic ratio), the thin layer B is a [Ti<SB POS="POST">1-y</SB>Si<SB POS="POST">y</SB>]N layer (wherein y is 0.01-0.30 in terms of atomic ratio), and the single layer is constructed of a layer of the same material as that of the thin layer A and is provided, near the surface of the hard coating layer, with an intermediate layer constructed of the same composition/components of the thin layer B with a layer thickness of 0.3-1 μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
