<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for an optical connector which allows a highly reliable optical connector to be manufactured at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of an optical connector: an optical fiber whose end is mirror-cut is inserted into an optical fiber insertion hole of a ferrule (a first step); the optical fiber is fixed with its end projecting from an end face of the ferrule by a predetermined length (a second step); the end face of the ferrule and the end face of the optical fiber are cleaned (a third step); and a non-fluent refractive index matching body is disposed on the end face of the ferrule so as to cover the end face of the optical fiber (a fourth step).
