The invention relates to a method of verifying a scan speed in a laser scanning system e.g. for additive layer manufacture. The method includes modulating the laser of the system to form a periodically modulated feature e.g. a pattern, spaced dashes, localised colour change from which the actual scan speed can be read or deduced. |
