Article comprises a base body of a polymeric material exhibiting elastic properties, where the article surface is completely or partially covered with a protective layer (9). The protective layer forms an adhesive bond with the base body, where a maintenance product is applied to the article surface forming the protective layer in the form of a thin, flexible film with abrasion-resistant, radiation resistant, and media-, dirt- and water-repellent properties.
