<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner capable of stably operating synchronization detection means. <P>SOLUTION: An optical scanner includes: a laser array 112 for emitting a plurality of light beams to scan a surface to be scanned of an image carrier; an SOS sensor 121 for detecting emitted light beams of optical scanning means; a transmission line abnormality determination part 161 for transmitting data to the laser array 112 via a transmission line to emit light beams of the laser array 112 and detecting an abnormality of the transmission line using an SOS signal detected by the SOS sensor 121; an image control part 150 for setting the number of light beams of the laser array 112 to be emitted in the case of image formation so that light quantity detected by the SOS sensor 121 when the transmission line abnormality deciding part 161 detects the abnormality of the transmission line becomes minimum light quantity or more, from among light quantity detected by the SOS sensor 121 in the case of image formation in which an electrostatic latent image is formed on the surface to be scanned, by scanning the surface to be scanned of a photoreceptor using the laser array 112. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
