<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems of an apparatus for cleaning ground water, in which the ground water is brought into contact with a cleaning material with a pump disposed under the cleaning material when the cleaning material is charged in a dug well, that the maintenance is hard, and also the durability is bad because the pump is always immersed in the ground water. <P>SOLUTION: The cleaning apparatus which cleans soil contaminated by chemical substances includes a cylindrical container that accommodates the cleaning material, a wire suspending the cylindrical container, and a vibration means to vertically move the wire.
