<p>A picket post (10) for use in forming a fence or the like, defines a central longitudinal axis (L) and at least three flanges (12) extending away from the central axis (L). The picket (10) has a ground engaging end (20) and an opposite end (22). At least one of the flanges (12) defines one or more apertures (28, 30, 32) for attachment of wire or the like thereto. The post is made of a plastics material such as PVC and that the flanges are kinked or bent so that in cross-section the post has the shape of a triskele. Each flange (12) defines a first portion (14) extending away from the central axis in a radial direction and a second portion (16) which is oriented at an angle of between 80° to 120°, typically around 100° to the first portion. The length of the second portion (16) of each flange is typically around one and a half to two times the length of the first portion (14) of the flange.</p> |
