This welding machine (1) can suppress a short-circuit current to thereby prevent a welding electrode (5) from being blown or sparks from being generated, by providing a switching element (9) and a resistance part (10) in parallel with the switching element (9) between a welding output part (2) and an output terminal (3), turning off the switching element (9) when touch sensing and stick checking are performed, and passing an electric current through the resistance part (10) instead of the switching element (9) when the welding electrode (5) and an object to be welded (6) are brought into contact with each other via the resistance part (10).
