The plastic material feeding apparatus (1) has a medium for receiving and transporting of plastic material. A cylinder unit (2) is provided, which stays in connection with a filling opening of a barrel extruder. A piston (3) is pivotally suspended remote from an end of a piston rod in the cylinder unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for feeding a plastic material, such as glass fiber reinforced polyester, into a barrel extruder.
