<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic sound field generating apparatus that generates a sound field enabling a listener to feel a sensation of the spatial spread of sound. <P>SOLUTION: A direct sound source and its N-th (N represents an integer equal to or greater than 1) order reflection sound sources are used as virtual sound sources. The N-th order reflection sound sources are oriented around an axis passing from a listener through the direct sound source so that the plurality of reflection sound sources are arranged with respect to each same order reflection sound source. Because of effects of the oriented N-th order reflection sound source, when the listener receives sound from a direction in which the direct sound source is oriented, the listener comes to feel a sensation of spatial (stereoscopic) spread of the sound in accordance with the arrangement of the N-th order reflection sound sources, so that a stereoscopic sound field can be generated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
