<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air battery which solves the problems that: air batteries have a difficulty of long term preservation due to parasitic reaction of a negative electrode active material with electrolyte also except during charging or discharging; its performance tends to be affected by an ambient environment; charging is impossible; an operational temperature range is limited from the melting point of water to the boiling point thereof; and the battery utilizing active oxygen species as a power generation source is not developed in the past. <P>SOLUTION: The air battery performs charging and discharging by means of active oxygen species moving between electrolytes.
