VACCINE CONTAINING ATTENUATED PESTIVIRUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attenuated pestivirus, especially attenuated BVDV.

SOLUTION: The attenuated pestivirus includes at least one mutation in the code sequence of sugar protein Ernsand further at least one mutation in the code sequence of Npro. The attenuated pestivirus preferably causes the inactivation of (hypothetic) immunoregulatory activity present in Nproand the composite inactivation of RNaseactivity present in a sugar protein Erns. The present invention also relates to a method for attenuating pestivirus (for example, BVDV); a nucleic acid encoding the pestivirus (especially BVDV), a composition containing the attenuated pestivirus (especially BVDV), and a vaccine.
