<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a test even on a tape library device whose device specification is unknown. <P>SOLUTION: The tape library test device transfers a medium sequentially from the top cell to the final cell on the basis of cell information that is predetermined in a tape library device to be tested, and measures a medium conveyance time required for each inter-cell transfer of the medium. The tape library test device extracts an inter-cell interval that requires longer medium conveyance time than medium conveyance time required by the other inter-cell intervals on the basis of the measured medium conveyance time for each inter-cell interval, as a singular point.
