<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stopper for avoiding a situation in which two articles cannot be joined to each other because of a missing member. <P>SOLUTION: The stopper 1 includes a cylindrical part 11 extending in a longitudinal direction B and having an insertion portion 33 whose size in a radial direction A becomes gradually smaller toward the front end of the cylindrical part. It can be mounted on a first plate member 61 by passing the insertion portion 33 through an insertion hole 63 of the first plate member 61 as a counterpart component. The cylindrical part 11 is split into a plurality of peripheral wall sections 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D, 3E, 3F by a plurality of slits 36 extending from a front end 11a toward a rear end 11b, and the peripheral wall sections are formed elastically deformable inward in the radial direction A of the cylindrical part.
