<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming system that reduces wasteful ink consumption due to maintenance operation (recovery processing of a recording head), and a maintenance control method. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming system 100, having a storage system for accumulating received printing jobs and performs printing by ejecting ink droplets from a recording head, has: an elapsed-time determining means 311 that determines whether or not the measurement value of the time during which printing is not performed reaches the preset prescribed time; an accumulated-job presence-or-absence determining means 312 that determines whether or not accumulated printing jobs are present when determined that the time during which printing is not performed reaches the preset prescribed time; and a control means 31 that performs the accumulated printing jobs when determined that the accumulated printing jobs are present, ejects ink droplets from the recording head, and controls recovery processing of the recording head. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
