The present invention is to provide a solar cell backside sealing film comprising ethylene-polar monomer copolymer as a chief ingredient, a crosslinker giving crosslinked structure and a colorant, which is free from reduction of electrical insulation properties, and a solar cell using the sealing film. A solar cell sealing film comprises ethylene-polar monomer copolymer, a crosslinker and a colorant, and further contains a (meth)acrylate compound represented by the following formula (I): in which R1, R2, R3 and R4 represent H or CH3, and n is an integer of 9 to 14; and a solar cell using the sealing film as a backside sealing film.
