<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium processing device capable of surely determining that a recording medium is pulled out of a conveyance path, and a method for controlling the same. <P>SOLUTION: A hybrid processing device 1 equipped with a print head 48 for providing recording on a check S conveyed through the medium conveying path 5. The processing device includes a TOF sensor 43 for detecting that the check S is inserted from a medium insertion port 3 of the medium conveying path 5, an EJD sensor 49 for detecting that the check S is ejected from a medium ejection port 4 of the medium conveying path 5, and an MOP sensor 47 for detecting the presence or absence of the check S between the TOF sensor 43 and the EJD sensor 49. When the state of the detection of the check S by any of the MOP sensor 47, the TOF sensor 43, and the EJD sensor 49 is shifted to the state that the check S is not detected by all of the TOF sensor 43, the MOP sensor 47, and the EJD sensor 49, it is determined that the check S is pulled out of the medium conveying path 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
