<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a POS device which reduces power consumption of a display during startup or the like. <P>SOLUTION: An POS device comprises: a display device which displays information to an operator and allows brightness to be set at a first brightness for normal display or at a second brightness lower than the first brightness; a driver which controls brightness of the display device; a BIOS (Basic Input Output System) which starts up when power supplied, sets the brightness of the display device at the second brightness, and retrieves an operating system for development on a memory; and a POS application which builds a POS (Point Of Sales) system under control of the operating system and sets the brightness of the display device at the first brightness through the driver after start up of the POS application. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
