Class 52(1) [Also in Group XVII] A rope loop handle A with its ends adhesively secured in a socket B is attached by metal fastenings E internally roughened where they encircle the rope to provide a positive grip relieving the socket joint from strain. The fastenings may be hook or U-bolts, on which the screw threads provide the roughened surface, or staples with clenched-over ends may be used. The socket is preferably applied dry and adhe-- sive subsequently injected through a rear opening therein. |
