<p>The teeth, in the form of e.g. an extruded plastic coil, are fed via a guide to a chain knitting machine on which the fabric is formed, and a latch needle co-operates with the end latch needle of the machine to knit alternate stitch loops of the end wale of the fabric so that they extend across the branches of adjacent teeth. Alternatively the latch needle may reciprocate transversely to its length so that it co-operates alternately with the two end machine latch needles, and the coil may be provided with a textile core.</p> |
