Method of assigning network addresses in an in-flight entertainment system

The method involves identifying a seat column (Col1) of each wireless processing unit among wireless processing units (SDB1-1-SDB1-m, SDB2-1-SDB2-m) by a server. The units are sequentially powered with a known time delay between powering of the units in the column and in a following seat column (Col2). A triggering equipment is powered for triggering a sending mechanism to send a message to the server, where the message contains a schedule information. The column of the sent-message unit is identified by the server based on the information and a message reception date.
