The switch or button (1) has a compensator (9) comprising a light outlet (10) for illumination in side edges. A converter (18) is mounted at a base side of a device socket/switching insert (4), and contacts two connecting terminals (5) and components electrically connected with the terminals at its primary side via contacts (19). An LED-illuminant is mounted in the compensator, and the converter contacts the LED-illuminant at its secondary side via a contact part (22), where contacting of the illuminant is taken place by contact pins (12).
