A lawn mower comprises a power supply, a chassis for holding the power supply, a fixed shaft 18 attached to the chassis, a rotary blade 22 which is rotatably supported with respect to the fixed shaft; a transmitting portion which transmits rotation of the power supply to the rotary blade and a fixed blade 24 which is coaxially-arranged with the rotary blade, wherein a distance between the rotary blade and the fixed blade can be varied. The mower may further comprise a positioning portion to vary a position of the rotary blade in an axial direction of the fixed shaft, the positioning portion may fix the rotary blade in a first position where the rotary blade strongly contacts the fixed blade and a second position wherein the rotary blade weakly contacts the fixed blade. |
