A method for producing a carbon bipolar plate for a polymer electrolyte fuel cell is provided to obtain a carbon bipolar plate having high strength, high electroconductivity and cost-efficiency. A method for producing a carbon bipolar plate for a polymer electrolyte fuel cell comprises the steps of: mixing natural crystalline graphite having a particle size of 50 micrometers or less, a packing density of 0.8 g/cm^3 or higher and a spherical shape as a base aggregate; molding the resultant mixture by using a carbonaceous binder; and heat treating the molded product at a temperature lower than 700 deg.C. The crystalline graphite particles have an aspect ratio(longer diameter/shorter diameter) of 3 or less. |
