Embodiments of the present invention provide adamantyl benzamide derivatives and pharmaceutical compositions comprising adamantyl benzamide derivatives. Methods of use of such compounds and compositions to modulate the activity of 11&bgr;-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (11&bgr;HSD1) in a subject are also provided.
