Spun mat - with hydrophilic props, contg melt-spun thermoplastics - and hydroxyalkylated polyamides

Fibre mats spun from filaments consisting entirely or partly of a mixture of usual filament-forming thermoplastics (I) with hydroxyalkylated polyamides (II), where ratio (I):(II) is 95:5 to 60:40, esp. 90:10 to 70:30, have hydrophilic properties and are suitable for textiles, e.g., materials coming in contact with human body, e.g., clothing, shoes, stockings, bed-linen, articles of hygiene, cushion materials and upholstery, and non-textiles. Pref. filaments from different (I) are spun to a mixed fibre mat, and pref. copolymers and/or condensates of (I) or blends thereof are spun.
