A contact body for contacting traveling materials treated with lubricating substance, such body comprising a thermally conductive base member having a surface adjacent to the path of travel of the materials and consisting of a first material subject to attack by the lubricating substance, and a coating applied to the surface and consisting at least in part of a second material which is impermeable to the lubricating substance and which is not subject to attack by the same.
