<p>A petrol-based fuel which is chemically inert to Al (alloys) contains an aliphatic mono-alcohol and 1-10 wt. % based on the wt. of the aliphatic alcohol, of a cpd. of formula HO-(CH2(CHOH)n-CH2O -mH (where m = 1-10 and n = 0-20, and n=0 when m is >1). Motor carburettors, which are generally of Al are not attacked by the fuel, even at relatively high temps.</p> |
