<p>PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing carbon nanotube is provided to improve the quality of carbon nanotube by mixing a carbon nanotube mixture with an oxidation catalyst and thermally treating the mixture. CONSTITUTION: A carbon nanotube mixture is mixed with an oxidation catalyst, and the mixture is thermally treated. The oxidation catalyst is metal ions, metal salts, or metal complexes. A metal contained in the metal ions, the metal salts, or the metal complexes is selected form a group including Fe, Ni, Zn, Cu, Mn, Al, Ti, Cr, V, Mo, Ru, Rh, Pd, Ag, Cd, Re, Os, Ir, Pt, Au, Sn, Pb, and W. The mixing ratio of the oxidation catalyst is in a range between 1 to 100 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the carbon nanotube mixture. A carbon nanotube refining process and a carbon nanotube cutting process are separately or simultaneously implemented by adjusting the kinds, the amount, the firing temperature, and the firing time of the oxidation catalyst.</p> |
