FIELD: information technology. ^ SUBSTANCE: at the initial step, each personal computer (PC) on the network undergoes inventorying and data are gathered on the program and hardware configuration of each PC. Based on the gathered data, efficiency rating is then determined for each variable of each PC, the information on which was gathered during inventory. Further, the efficiency ratings are combined and an overall efficiency rating is formed. The PC with the highest overall efficiency rating is assigned the role of proxy through which the administration server is able to connect with at least one PC on the network, send to at least one PC on the network information required to launch a remote administration task, and also receive various information from at least one PC on the network. ^ EFFECT: optimum selection of a personal computer on a network for the role of proxy, through which the administration server can connect to a personal computer on the network and send information required to launch a remote administration task. ^ 46 cl, 13 dwg |
