FIELD: information technology. ^ SUBSTANCE: method for scanning coefficients of video units is offered in which order of scanning is adapted. This order is used to scan two-dimensional coefficient unit into one-dimensional vector of coefficients on the basis of statistics data associated with one or more preliminary coded units. For example, statistics data which specify possibility that preset coefficient value in each position of two-dimensional unit is equal to zero or differ from zero can be collected for one or more preliminary coded units. Scanning order establishment can be performed for additional ensuring that non-zero coefficients will group in the front part of one-dimensional coefficient vector.
