<p>PURPOSE: A method for treating porous substrates is provided to apply constant compressive force to the end part of a wound porous sheet material. CONSTITUTION: A perforated supporting core(58) is expanded along one shaft. A plurality of porous media(24) is wound around the core to form a first roll; a first fixing unit is applied to each end part of the first roll to apply diametrical pressures to the end parts of the first roll in order to prevent the flow of fluid to the axial direction of the first roll. A plurality of additional layers is wound around the first roll to form a second roll. A second fixing unit is applied to each end part of the second roll to apply the diametrical pressures to the end parts of the second roll to prevent the flow of fluid to the axial direction of the second roll.</p> |
