The device consists of a box-like, uprightly arranged container (1) with wheels (2, 3) and at least one front door (4,5) able to be pivoted open. The container (1) may be closed by the front door (4, 5) in an airtight manner. It comprises at least one air valve to the outside which may be closed and opened as well as a means for measuring and storing as well as for the display of the temperature and the pressure in the inside of the closed container, which may be read from the outside. The data may be read out on a PC as diagrams over a time period of at least 14 days via an interface. The prepared meals are first cooled to 2°C to 4°C and then are set under a vacuum in the container. In this manner they remain fresh for up to 14 days.
