VENEER MACHINE ROLLER PRESSURE BAR ASSEMBLY

A veneer pressure bar assembly is provided wherein the pressure bar or back-up rollers for the pressure bar are supported by hydrostatic lubrication in a housing. The lubricant which may be oil, water, oil and water, or air is fed to at least three slot shaped pockets extending along two paths along the housing (at least one slot along one path and at least two along the other path) on each side of the resultant force on the roller being lubricated. The slot or slots along each path occupy a major portion of that path.
