PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for forming a hinge unit of an airbag door are provided to prevent the mixing of materials and reduce the consumption of a TPO(Thermoplastic Olenfin) material by moving a slide mold to inject the TPO material into only a hinge unit area. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for forming a hinge unit of an airbag door comprises a second mold(60) and a hinge forming unit(70). The second mold is coupled with a first mold(50) to form a forming cavity(55) in which a main material is injected to form a crash pad(30) and an air bag door(40). The hinge forming unit is installed in the second mold and allowed to slide, and the hinge forming unit injects a sub material into a hinge unit area of the forming cavity to form a hinge unit. |
