<p>Plant tubs comprising several vertical chambers connected by cavity walls which can easily be broken apart. The chambers are interconnected via holes in their walls, have a thin cloth or fibrous base and are filled with compost covered with another cloth with holes over the middle of each pot. Pref. the (square section) tubs are moulded from expanded polystyrene, pref. with loops of nylon are similar filaments which can be drawn tight to trap the main root of the plant in any one pot to be broken from the tube. Esp. for cultivation of forestry plants in nurseries. More robust and closer packing than conventional clay pots of conical cross-section, can maintain a moisture cycle.</p> |
