PURPOSE: A throttle control method for reducing the fuel consumption of a vehicle is provided to optimize the operation of a vehicle using real-time fuel information regardless of the operation of an accelerator. CONSTITUTION: A throttle control method for reducing the fuel consumption of a vehicle is as follows. An ECU(electronic control unit) of an ETS(electronic throttle system) confirms whether an accelerator is operated or not by receiving the displacement information of the accelerator from an electronic accelerator system(S20). The displacement value of the accelerator and the real-time speed value of a vehicle received from the ECU are compared with a pre-set reference displacement value and a reference speed value(S40).
