PURPOSE: Prismatic secondary battery is provided to reduce the whole volume of a battery by reducing the space occupied by a protection circuit module by forming the protection circuit module inside a can. CONSTITUTION: Secondary battery comprises an electrode assembly including a positive electrode tap and a negative electrode tap, a can in which the electrode assembly is accepted, a cap assembly(500) sealing a top opening of the can, and a protection circuit module(400) formed in space between the cap assembly and the electrode assembly, and additionally comprises an insulate case formed in the top of the electrode assembly. The insulate case comprises a second hole in which an electrolyte inlet formed on the cap plate is inserted, a positive electrode tap hole for penetrating the positive electrode tap and a negative electrode tap hole for penetrating the negative electrode tap. |
