PURPOSE: A transparent display apparatus and local information providing method are provided to improve the utilization of information by interlocking the information of a specific area with the information of a local area. CONSTITUTION: A transparent display apparatus selects a part of a background image which is able to be watched through a transparent display unit(S1030). The transparent display apparatus displays one or more menus and captured image on the transparent display unit(S1040). When the displayed menu is selected, the transparent display apparatus displays a screen related to the selected menu(S1050, S1060). The displayed screen includes a part of a map.
