PURPOSE: A device for managing a channel in a zigbee communication system and a method thereof are provided to change a channel using an available channel list when interferences are generated between data streams or the data streams and another communication system. CONSTITUTION: A channel selecting unit selects a channel in a channel changing unit(S505). The channel changing unit changes a channel of a data stream(S510). An available channel list managing unit checks whether a channel is continuously changed a set number of times(S515). When the channel is continuously changed a set number of times, the available channel list managing unit additionally allocates a channel to an available channel list of the specific data stream(S520).
