PURPOSE: A coating composition for cokes is provided to prevent the mutual collision between cokes by spraying a coating composition composed of polyvinyl alcohol and polyhydric alcohol onto the surfaces of the cokes being transferred. CONSTITUTION: A coating composition for cokes to prevent powder cokes caused by crack and fracture comprises 80-90 volume% of polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) solution with a concentration of 5-12 weight% and 10-20 volume% of polyhydric alcohol. The coating composition is sprayed onto the surface of cokes being discharged from a quenching device and/or transferred. The PVA has a polymerization degree of 1,000-5,000 and a hydrolysis degree of 70-99mol%. The polyhydric alcohol is at least one of glycerin, ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, and 1,3-butylene glycol. |
