PURPOSE: An image processing method, an image processing apparatus, and a medical image system are provided to enable a user to precisely grasp a subject by obtaining a diagnostic image with enhanced contrast and detail. CONSTITUTION: An extracting unit(110) extracts a low frequency band element and a high frequency band element with regard to a radiation image. A contrast enhancing unit(120) enhances contrast of the extracted low frequency band element. A detail enhancing unit(130) enhances a detail of the extracted high frequency band element. A synthesizing unit synthesizes images processed by the contrast enhancing unit and the detail enhancing unit. A generating unit generates a diagnostic image by reconstructing the synthesized image.
