摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic compound having characteristics with excellent electron injection and transportation performances, a hole blocking ability and high stability in a thin-film state as a material for an organic EL (Electroluminescent) device having high efficiency and high durability, and to provide an organic EL device having high efficiency and high durability by using the above compound. <P>SOLUTION: The compound is represented by general formula (1), and the organic electroluminescent (EL) device includes the compound. In the formula, Ar represents an aromatic hydrocarbon group or the like; among R<SB POS="POST">1</SB>to R<SB POS="POST">10</SB>, one out of R<SB POS="POST">1</SB>to R<SB POS="POST">5</SB>and two out of R<SB POS="POST">6</SB>to R<SB POS="POST">10</SB>represent linking groups, while the others are the same or different from one another and represent a hydrogen atom or the like; m represents an integer of 1 to 3; and n represents an integer of 0 to 4.
