The invention relates to method enabling the classification of vehicular traffic along a road having one or more lanes. The method enables the determination of when a vehicle has passed by and the determination of the parameters of said vehicle such as the speed or type thereof, wherein said measurements are not affected by factors that could affect the sensors, such as temperature changes or interference from nearby sensors, among others.
