The present disclosure relates to a magnetic toner composition. The toner composition includes one or more resins, and spherical ferromagnetic nanoparticles. Also provided is a process for preparing these toners including ferromagnetic nanoparticles. In embodiments, the aggregation of the toner is conducted at a pH greater than about 7, without the use of a coagulant. Additionally, in embodiments, freezing (stopping particle growth) and coalescence of the toner particles may be conducted at a pH greater than about 9. In yet other embodiments, the process may be conducted under an inert gas such as argon to avoid oxidation of the ferromagnetic nanoparticles during toner preparation. |
