Provided is a catalyst for producing an unsaturated aldehyde and/or an unsaturated carboxylic acid, said catalyst having excellent mechanical strength and degree of powdering and enabling production of the target product at a high yield. The catalyst comprises a catalytically active component containing molybdenum, bismuth and iron as essential components, as well as inorganic fibers, and is characterized by containing at least an inorganic fiber having an average fiber diameter of 8 µm or more and an inorganic fiber having an average fiber diameter of 6 µm or less as the inorganic fibers.
