<p>Disclosed is a novel surface protecting film capable of preventing scratches to the surface of an adherend, having excellent adhesion and bonding by virtue of superior flexibility, and capable of suppressing contamination of the surface of the adherend. The disclosed surface protective film has an adhesive layer on one side of a substrate layer that contains a polyolefin-based resin in which resin elution by the cross fractionation method at 0C or greater and less than 20C is greater than or equal to 1 mass% and less than 20 mass% of the total resin mass.</p>
