An optical switch method and an optical switch are disclosed. The optical switch comprises an optical diverter unit configured to divert multiple light beams. The optical diverter unit comprises an MEMS grating having multiple grating beams. Multiple light beams fall onto the multiple grating beams to form multiple light spots. Each light spot falls onto at least two grating beams, and at least two grating beams rotate in batches and in turn to reflect at least a part of a light spot onto at least one preset exit path.
