<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing corrosion of a metallic layer which can inhibit corrosion (e.g., discoloration) of a metallic layer by making the metallic layer highly sulphurization-resistant. <P>SOLUTION: The method for preventing corrosion of the metallic layer is to inhibit corrosion of the metallic layer by the following procedures: The metallic layer which can be obtained from a metal belonging to the Group 11 of the periodic table, is covered with a silicone resin layer which is available from a silicone resin composition. This silicone resin composition contains (A) 100 pts.mass of organopolysiloxane with at least not less than one reactive functional group selected from the group consisting of an epoxy group, a (meth)acryloyl group, an amino group, a carbinol group, a mercapto group, a carboxyl group and a phenol group, in one molecule; and (B) 0.01 to 5 pts.mass of zinc compound.
